The Pembina Institute is helping British Columbia businesses take real action against climate change with an innovative new program launched in partnership with Ecotrust Canada and the David Suzuki Foundation.
The Carbon Neutral Workgroup program, geared toward small and medium-sized businesses, includes a series of three workshops in which companies:
- Measure their carbon footprint with easy-to-use software,
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and
- Learn about offset opportunities for carbon neutral products and services.
Participating businesses receive one-on-one technical assistance from the Pembina Institute between workshops.
The first Carbon Neutral Workgroup helped 12 small businesses from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland find creative and cost-effective ways to shrink their carbon footprint.
The program's collaborative structure, diversity of participants and targeted technical assistance makes for a lively exchange of ideas, strategies and successes.
The project is part of Pembina's Corporate Consulting Services which provides solutions for companies seeking to make their businesses more sustainable.
